This picture of the kids on our way to the Kiddie Parade cracks me up! |
It was another beautiful year for the Neewollah Kiddie Parade! This year, Nana Billie sewed costumes and a medieval tent and Papa Derrel prepared the float. We gathered early, but found ourselves at the back of the large group of children waiting for their turn to take on the parade route. We were surrounded by all sorts of cute costumed kids & families and a few "mini-floats".

I came prepared with snacks & juice boxes for the kiddos. |

Our pretty princess! |

Lots of family came to see us, including Aunt Ange and Grandma Ida who gave good luck hugs before finding a place in the crowds lining the parade route. |

More family! Uncle Jack, Papa Derrel, Aunt Shari, Nana Billie & Uncle Butch |

My knight in shining armor! |
Lining up bands, large floats and all the costumed kiddies took a long time, and Kyrie & Degen did a good job waiting in the bright sun (for more than an hour). Moods were taking a turn for the worse when I found two lollipops that provided the last minutes of distraction we needed before we were allowed onto the parade route. Once we were there, the kids were happy to smile & wave at the crowds. We were happy to see lots of our family smiling & waving back!
