Indianapolis Children's Museum: Part 5 (Barbie)

Okay, so with all of the truly fabulous and educational exhibits at the children's museum (and we didn't get to see them all), I am a little embarassed to admit that my very favorite exhibit was the Barbie exhibit. It was really well-done and included history, process and fun. From the displays of dolls to the fashion show to the reel of classic Barbie commercials, this exhibit spoke to the little girl in me... and Kyrie liked it a lot, too!

We had to show Kyrie how to make a peace sign as she posed in front of this display of Barbies from the 70s.

Kyrie liked this bridal Barbie the best from this display.

I liked this display that included some of the different jobs that Barbie has had throughout the years. There was also a display about the newest career Barbie: Architect Barbie.

I liked this Ken because of his groovy 'do, including swank sideburns!

This Skipper doll just seemed a little odd. It's something I could see there being a big to-do about today (and maybe there was when it first came out, too). Would you buy this for your little girl?

I thought for sure that Degen would at least stop to look at the Barbies & Kens that they had out to play with, but he went straight for the row of computers where you could design a fashion layout. Kyrie enjoyed the program, too. Darren tried his hand at some fashion designing with some good, ol' fashioned pencil & paper.

Kyrie enjoyed draping cloth to make her own clothing line! She took it very seriously!
