The Waldorf-Astoria

Our vacation 2011 was planned around a conference Darren attended for work. We were fortunate to be able to piggy-back on this business trip, and started our vacation off right in the lap of luxury at the Waldorf-Astoria in Orlando.

Our room's entryway. We arrived late at night, and I neglected to get a picture of the view during the day. We overlooked the golf course, which was gorgeous. We also had a great view of the storms that passed through the area while we were there. The rain put a damper on our plans, but if you've gotta be rained in during your vacation I highly recommend getting rained in at the Waldorf!

Kyrie is an absolute sucker for a "princess hotel." She was hooked after we stayed at the Ritz-Carlton a few years ago. The beds were amazing! Some of the softest linens & pillows I have ever snuggled into!

Room service!!!! Love it!!!! We ordered room service twice during our stay. When we first arrived we were tired and starving and it was the easiest way to get us fed. After our long, rainy day in our room, I also took advantage of  room service as I felt taking my two wild kiddos to one of the restaurants would be disastrous.
(When we stayed at the Ritz, I did take the kids to the restaurant and it was absolutely awful.) Both kids loved having dinner wheeled right up to their bed AND the little jars of ketchup were just perfect for dipping their fries.

A super-special treat greeted us upon our arrival. A delicious gift from Kyrie's & Degen's fairy-godmother, Aunt Jess (and Jack, too). This festive tray of cupcakes with all our favorite toppings was a delight for the kids and for Darren & me. It was a fabulous way to start off our birthday vacation!
Hugs & kisses to Jess & Jack! We love you!

The kids & I stopped for a photo in the beautiful lobby on our way to visit the parks! After Darren's conference ended, we packed up the crew and headed to the All-Star Movies Resort on Disney property. We definitely missed the luxury of the Waldorf!
