We spent Monday at Epcot. It is a much more cerebral park than the others, and though I knew it wouldn't be as much fun as some of the other parks for the kids. I knew that Darren would enjoy it. Degen really liked the 'Finding Nemo' ride, but missed out on much of the morning because he fell asleep during the (very loud) 3-D "Captain EO" show (Michael Jackson saving the universe through song... ah, the 80s!). Kyrie enjoyed the Journey into Imagination ride.
We visited Epcot during the garden & flower show. There were beautiful Disney-themed topiaries all over the park!
Visiting the International Showcase is a pretty neat experience. It's an interesting peek into other countries' cultures. To make this experience more meaningful for Kyrie, we purchased her an Epcot passport that she could take to each country to have it signed & stamped by a native from each featured country.
I love this photo of Degen! There was a Beatles tribute band playing in the U.K. and Darren & Degen sang along. They were having so much fun singing, and when it was over I caught this super-happy look on Degen's face!
Since we were leaving Disney World before Darren's actual birthday, we treated this day like it was his birthday. For dinner that night, we had reservations at the Biergarten in Germany. There was more delicious German food than we could eat on the buffet, and the kids had a great time rocking out to this oom-pah band!
No cupcake required! Darren enjoyed his birthday treat by the liter!
I asked Darren to take this photo for me as we were heading out of the park, and it turned out amazingly!
We ended the day watching the huge fireworks show as we left the Epcot!
