A Little Night Magic

After a restful afternoon and a quick dinner at the hotel, we headed back to the Magic Kingdom. Soon after we arrived, people started gathering for a Main Street parade, so we headed straight for Fantasy Land to get to some of the rides we had missed during our earlier visits.
The kids were excited to ride the carousel, and I was happy that we got on without a wait. There were lots of rides that we did not get to do while we were there because of the long wait times, but mostly the kids were understanding and happy for what they did get to do.

Our favorite rides at Magic Kingdom were all the rides in Adventure Land (which I found to be the least busy area of the park), the Buzz Lightyear ride, It's a Small World (Degen especially liked it!), Peter Pan's Flight and Splash Mountain.

Because of the height restrictions, Darren went on Splash Mountain with Kyrie while I waited with Degen. I was grateful for this little play area near the ride where Degen could play while we waited. When we had watched others go on Splash Mountain during previous visits, Kyrie got pretty nervous and didn't want to go, but Darren convinced her that she would be safe & have fun. She really enjoyed it in the end!

Our last ride before we left the Magic Kingdom was the Jungle Cruise. Both kids really enjoyed this somewhat simple ride. As we finished up our 'cruise' we saw the fireworks over the tops of the trees.
Kyrie loved that the castle changed color throughout the evening. It was quite beautiful! This was our last look at the castle as we headed towards Main Street and back to the hotel.
I just really like this goofy picture of Degen (who is so often such a serious boy). This was not always an easy trip for him because of the waiting and the lines and the crowds (and my stress at him possibly getting lost in the lines & the crowds). There were long days and delayed naps or no naps. Still, he mostly had a good time, and I look forward to going back when he can enjoy the experience a bit more.
