Our day at the Magic Kingdom started off by revisiting some of the rides the kids liked best from our first visit: Aladdin's Magic Carpets, the Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. (In all, the kids rode the magic carpets 4 times, the Jungle Cruise twice and Pirates 3 times.) Then we headed for lunch at the Crystal Palace with Winnie-the-Pooh & Friends.
I have to say that though the characters were friendly, this was one of my least favorite dining experiences. Because the Crystal Palace is the only character dining experience at the Magic Kingdom (except for the difficult-to-get-into Cinderella's Royal Table) it is very crowded. Even with a reservation, we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in and there are crowds of people inside and out.
Luckily, we were able to find some shade and watch the show at the castle while we waited to be seated. And though we had to wait in some slow-moving lines inside, it was cool and the food was tasty. Kyrie marched in one of the lunchtime parades around the restaurant, and both kids enjoyed some hugs from their friends at Pooh Corner!
We didn't stay too much longer after our lunch as the sun grew hot and the crowds surged around Fantasy Land (which is by far the most popular area of the Magic Kingdom). We retreated to the hotel where Degen took a long nap while Darren & Kyrie swam the afternoon away in the Fantasia-themed pool. Kyrie LOVED swimming in that pool, and I wish that we could have fit in more down time during our stay so that she could have gone swimming more.
