I asked Kyrie what unit she wanted to do last week, and she quickly declared that our pet unit was one of her favorites. We read lots of fun books about all sorts of pets and worked on letters, counting & measurement. In between all our hard work, we had some fun, too!
We made froggy cupcakes! YUM! Kyrie frosted her cupcake all by herself and added the candy face.
She also painted a pet dish for the cats. We talked about all the things that cats like and she painted some of them like: a sun, a bed, catnip and other kitty favorites. She also painted the word 'CAT' on the bowl. She did a great job!
While we waited for the paint to dry, we made some puppy chow! I even let Kyrie eat it out of a (clean) pet bowl. She thought that was a lot of fun! This yummy, choco-peanut butter snack did not last very long in our house!
This is the finished pet bowl. Kyrie did all the painting herself, and then I labeled the paintings. (The catnip painting is my favorite!)
Kyrie was eager for the cats to start using their new dish! As soon as it was dry, she filled it up with water for our thirsty kitties!
