Kitchen Remodel VI

Ta-da! We have outlets & switches...lots & lots of switches!

Work on the kitchen seems to be continuing inch by inch. We are currently waiting on the granite, the backsplash and one set of cupboards. After those big things come in there will be about a thousand little jobs that need to be done. Still, in the past few weeks, the progress has continued mostly with lighting. Now, let me just say that this kitchen has got to be the most well-lighted kitchen that I have ever seen. We have LED cans in the ceiling, under-cabinet lighting, lights in the glass cabinet, pendant lights over what will the be the sit-in areas (they are up, but not in these photos). My very favorite lights are the ones under the cabinets. They just have a very pleasing glow that makes me want to hang out there!

These photos give a nice glimpse of what will be! These are my temporary (plywood) countertops and temporary sink. The dishwasher works... but the microwave does not. I will not even go into what a pain we had with that microwave only to find out that it does not work. Sigh...our poor contractor is going to have to take it down so that we can take it back for a new one. But, the stove works! We have started to make our way back into the kitchen, but have decided not to unpack any boxes until the entire thing is done. So... any cooking I do is split between upstairs & the downstairs set-up. We are getting close now! Whew! I think another 2-4 weeks and we will be done!
