Degen was supposed to get his cast off on Tuesday, but the appointment was delayed until Friday. Boy oh boy were we ready for Friday to get here. The "saw" was a bit scary, but as soon as the fiberglass was cut he calmed down. He was smiling and giggling when the nurse cut off the last layers of the cast.
As soon as the cast was off, Degen started moving his arm all around, loving the freedom of movement he hadn't had in a month.
Degen had to get an x-ray to make sure that the bones in his arm had healed. Afterward, he got to choose a pencil & sticker and gave me this goofy smile. The doctor said that the arm is 80% healed, which is their requirement to remove the cast. He said that it will take several months to a year to heal completely, until then he should avoid any big falls. Sigh... for a little boy who falls as much as Degen this could be a long year for Momma!
