Girl Scout Cookie Time

Well, January is Girl Scout Cookie time in Ohio. Kyrie really wanted to sell 800 boxes this year (and Darren was willing to help her reach that goal), but we also talked about another goal and decided on 300 boxes. We did have a few nicer days for weather, and they went out on the bikes around the neighborhood when they could. Colder weather they took the car so that they could go back to warm up every once in a while. They spent at least 4 afternoons selling around the neighborhood. We also took her up to Darren's work. We did not spend much time soliciting there last year and thought we should do more there this year. Kyrie goes in wearing her uniform and has her sales speech prepared. I like that this is really something that she has to do and it is not just us doing the selling. I think that  people really like to see her up there, too. People can't help but smile when she asks if they would like to buy cookies, and she rarely gets turned down. Well, cookie sales were over last week and Kyrie reached and exceeded her goal. She sold 362 boxes, and right now is her troop's #2 top seller for the year. We are grateful to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers who helped Kyrie and her troop with their cookie orders this year. Thank you!
