One afternoon during our visit, Darren took us to the cemetery to visit the graves of his maternal grandparents. This was a special time for the kids, and we talked about the ways that people honor their departed loved ones such as families do during Dia de los Muertos. Degen found some loose flowers that had blown away and placed them on his great-grandmother's headstone. It was a nice moment for our family.
