Another year with our amazing girl who is now 8 years old! It is hard to know where to begin when I write about this darling girl. First of all, she is such a sweetheart! Kyrie tends to be easy-going, a good friend and loving big sister. She loves animals and playing outside and reading and staying up late. Kyrie has matured this year in a lot of ways, including getting a little braver. Her tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy helped her to understand about how much pain she could handle and get through. It seems like some of the life-lessons we have spent years talking about are finally making an impact... and others we just keep on talking about.
Kyrie's activities this year included: piano, tennis, gymnastics, horseback riding, gym & swim, Girl Scouts, dance (ballet, tap & hip-hop) and German school. She enjoys all her activities, but especially likes horseback riding where she recently made her first canter.
She has been working hard at her homeschool lessons, too. She is a good reader and continues to work on her math skills with a lot of focus on multi-digit addition/subtraction with regrouping/renaming. Her favorite parts of lessons are the science & social studies themes for each unit. She really likes history and learning about the world around her. She was very excited to recently start learning about cursive writing. She is registered as a homeschooled first grader with our local school district, but we don't spend a lot of time focused on grade labels. Rather we work at a level & pace that allows for her to both be challenged and find success.
We are very proud of Kyrie! She has worked hard this past year and (mostly) had a good attitude. She has a positive outlook and carefree attitude that we often admire. We look forward to another exciting year with our happy & loving girl!
