Homeschool15: Summer Study

Well, I knew that the kids needed to keep learning over the summer, but I also knew that it was very difficult for us to maintain our full homeschool regimen with our friends wanting to play and the kids attending day camps and other activities. So, my compromise was six weeks of summer studies, which mostly consisted of the children keeping up with the basics (for Degen this is numbers, letters and math skills; for Kyrie this is grammar and math skills) plus country studies and book studies for Kyrie. This worked out quite well for our family. There was enough work for them to keep their skills sharp while allowing for all the fun that summer offers! So, the kids spent lots of time outside and we went to the pool and met up with our friends without stressing about what we didn't have time to finish.

The following pages were part of some of Kyrie's book studies, she read: The Big Wave, Molly's Pilgrim, Lead Us To Freedom, Harriet Tubman, Sarah Plain and Tall, and The Magic Finger.

Kyrie completed country studies for Venezuela and Indonesia.
