January & February is our time to get a little lovey-dovey with homeschool units about friends, family, pets, ourselves and Valentine's Day! The kids enjoyed reflecting about family during this unit.
Degen wrapped up his alphabet study. We will start all over again with A in the next unit as he builds up his letter recognition, phonics and handwriting skills. He seems to have a pretty good grasp on the alphabet at this point and is a solid pre-reader. During this unit, he also worked with mathematical fact families.
Kyrie continues to practice reading comprehension, writing skills and math. During this unit, we also talked about genetics, and she created a family tree. Kyrie is wrapping up her study of the US regions and a brief overview of the continents before beginning her country study.
