Holiday Hugs!

Just a short visit to Nanny & Pop-pop's house this trip, and I was so busy enjoying our time together that I didn't get the camera out until we were leaving. I feel lucky to have gotten these great pics. We always love spending time with Nanny & Pop-pop and are grateful for our time together.

Treasure Hunting

We took a quick trip to enjoy Dude's favorite hobby: antiques! The kids loved this unique antique shop in an old barn. They loved exploring and both left with a few treasures: Degen found an old running medal and Kyrie found a Mardi Gras coin and a cap gun.

July 4th: Independence Play!

The kids enjoyed playing at a nearby park after the pool party.

Pool Party

We spent a lovely part of our July 4th at a swanky pool party! It was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine and an endless blue sky, but it was also cool and breezy. The kids spent time in the pool (Kyrie much more eager to swim than her brother) while the adults sat under an umbrella poolside to eat & talk.

Flower Children

Expecting rain, we didn't plan for a picnic at our usual stop on our way to Virginia. Normally, we would make this trip Memorial Day weekend, but Kyrie's dance recital schedule has pushed our trip into the July 4th holiday weekend. Though we didn't have a picnic, we stopped off at the "mountain" anyway to let the kids stretch their legs and take a break from the confines of the car. They found a hill of flowers and spent their time gathering a bouquet and looking out upon the scenery.
